 Very excited to announce that the Pierce lab has activated its second NSF grant! The project is a collaborative effort with Ken Angielczyk at the Field Museum and aims to reconstruct forelimb evolution in Synapsida.

 [Collaborative Research: Evolving the mammalian forelimb: modeling musculoskeletal transformation in the forerunner of mammals](https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=1754459&HistoricalAwards=false) (DEB #1757749)

 We will be traveling the world collecting fossil data and performing cool lab-intensive experiments. The research will also include working with Andy Biewener (Harvard; biomechancis), Zhe-Xi Luo (Chicago; early mammals), and Graham Slater (Chicago; phylogenetics).
