Arielli is a Brazilian researcher specializing in ecology and biogeography. She has led studies on the impacts of environmental and climate change on biodiversity and has collaborated on various projects related to animal biology, ecology and evolution, biogeography, paleobiology, taxonomy, and conservation. Her expertise includes integrative analyses using multispecies big data, geospatial information, evaluating biodiversity distribution, ecological niche models, and ecological interactions over time. Arielli was the first woman researcher to receive the Postdoctoral Lemann Harvard-Brazil Fellowship in paleontology with the Stephanie Pierce Lab. She is currently based in the Paleobiology Lab at the Federal University of Pampa, where she is developing an extensive database of terrestrial tetrapods from the Brazilian Permian and Triassic periods. Additionally, she is compiling information from other Southern Hemisphere countries to investigate the end-Permian mass extinction, the largest extinction event in Earth’s history, using integrative tools to address sampling gaps.
